Vinification: The natural low yield per hectare of the old vineyards and the hand picking unti1 late October allow a high sugar content and excellent polyphenols. After the fermentation, the wines are rich and well-structured and surprisingly with soft tannins. Colle dei Venti Montepulciano is aged for a short period in barriques (6 months in used barriques, 70% French wood and 30% American wood) which sweetens its tannins, without altering its fruity notes. Drink young, however it is perfect even after a shot ageing period in bottle.
Sensory Features: Limpid, dense, strong ruby red with garnet highlights. Intense, complex, fruity with a strong aroma of ripe red fruits, “amaretto”, marzipan, spices. Dry, warm, soft, elegant and velvety tannins. Wine of excellent flavour and well-balanced.
Serving Temperature: 18-20 °C
Alcoholic Content: 13%
Idea of the Wine: Wine made for young drinkers, with enough experience, that are seeking good value for money.
